Day 2 of a Change

Day 2 was actually Tuesday, and Wednesday was my rest day which I spent with my tutor after placement trying to do some work for my upcoming assignment and portfolio, which is why this is late.
Day 2 was core, upper and lower back and abdomen.
I completed the following work outs. with the usual stretches

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mackenziekruvant/5-one-song-workouts#1407568
This took me a while to complete as when I do any kind of lunges or leg work I tend to use very slow motions to make the most of that stretch or movement.

I used the exercises for abdomen work out in this video,

I did the first round on this video for a quiet cardio work out, I found it tough going actually so I recommend it. Anything that is hard is gonna be good to practice.

I also completed this work out, although it is for love handles I found that it was beneficial for my back and for my core too. This was tough work, the girl in the images makes it look so easy.

That was Tuesday, all that lasted for approximately 1 hour and a half.
Very good work out.
I felt very tired by the end of it and was looking forward to my bed.

I am trying to use a lot of workouts that I have pinned on Pintrest (http://www.pinterest.com/rawkshel/ go follow me and say hi, or something)
I want to use a variety of workouts to keep me motivated and keep me learning as opposed to ground hog day and just doing the same old thing.

Today is Thursday and currently working on Love handles, glutes and thighs today.
Will write about that later.

Day 1 of a change

I decided to get back into the way of keeping fit.
About 3 weeks ago I decided to start stretching to improve my flexibility.
(I think I wrote about it either here or on tumblr (rawrdotorg, go follow me) )
I now want to take it up a notch and tone up.
So I've measured myself:

Arms: 12 inches
Chest 36.5 inches
Thinnest part of waist: 29.2 inches
Thighs: 22 inches

I'm happy with the way I look and don't believe that numbers mean much at the moment.
However, I do want to get more into shape and become stronger.
I want to see if I can burn any slight excess fat that I do have and turn it into muscle instead.

Yesterday was the first day of my fitness regime that I'm putting in place.

Monday is Shoulders and arms day.
I looked on Pintrest for a lot of inspiration.
Firstly I did a stretch yoga routine with Blogilates
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia5ZTVQnsBw

Then I did some weight training (not anything heavy just 2 lb or so)
Then I used some of the arm work outs from this canadian website
http://www.divine.ca/en/health/exercise-finder/c_266/ basically you highlight and click a part of the body and it provides exercises that will help strengthen that area.

Then my boyfriend came over whilst in the middle of this next work out and I never got to finish it. (Thank goodness though as I found it hard work and my arms hurt a bit today, nothing strenuous but it is gonna take a while to get my arms into shape)

Today is Upper and lower back day throwing in some ab work outs too.

Christmas Market. Uh Oh. It's Started.

This is my friend Rachel, we have the same name lol.

We went to the Christmas market tonight and had some banter and kangeroo burgers. Surprisingly nice, they didn't taste much different to a beef burger actually. We like the Christmas market cause there's lots of things to see, but mostly cause there's so much food, and we like food.

I also had a kebab of Dutch pancakes, none of the staff were dutch. This upset me but they did have a laugh at my expense. My friend who took the photo Roy was also there, he asked if I was allergic to anything before we ordered toppings for our so called Dutch pancakes, I said cats.
It was one of those moments were you had to be there I guess?

Motivation

Why should I wait until January to find an excuse of "New Year Resolutions" to make some kind of change in my life?

I have decided to make a change now.
Well actually as of two weeks ago.
I may have mentioned before I am trying to stretch every morning to help wake myself up and get into a way of working out again.
My friend and I want to work out together but she lives like 30 miles away so I'm thinking maybe there is a better way to help each other and maybe work out together once a week.
I'm thinking every day do stretches/pilates/yoga. Then for each day of the week focus on a different part of the body to tone.  Probably best to start from head to toe on this one? Then taking extra care to look at diet and snacks etc.

Yes. I think I will discuss this with my friend and see if she is up for this idea. Then we shall concoct a work out plan together MOSTLY USING PINTREST AS IT IS AWESOME!

kthanksbye.

Saturday 16 November 2013

My heart is almost full yet not ready to stop learning.

The past two weeks I have been trying to get into the habit of doing stretches first thing when I wake up, to help my body feel revitilised and ready to take on work.
I am starting to feel the benefits of it, and am trying to eat healthier, although I must say working out at the community it is very hard to "eat healthily"  but am trying.

I then am starting to wean myself into pilates as well as stretches to help get me into the way of keeping fit again.
I have come across some interesting videos on youtube from Blogilates
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r_z7DUpjH8&list=PLDF3462F6A19FA96E
Which I have found to really help me get started, and you feel the post workout ache after it but it feel so good!
I am also finding that my out look on everything in general is changing as a result of me kicking myself into shape.
I'm feeling a bit more awake and rested (although I am exhausted when I come home from work)
I'm more open to ideas,
I'm socializing... Let's just let that sink in for a second.
I'm now trying to be motivated to work at my studies more and being proactive.

I am taking in the air around me and appreciating the world as I see it. I am starting to think broadly about the future and trying to be a little more care free about things in general.

I'm trying to get back into the way of meditating and reading my Bible more often but that is gonna take some practice.

I'm also taking good care of my hair and skin too.

I came across this video of a woman prior to being put under anesthetic for a double mastectomy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPdheFjRm4E
no words can express the positivity and holistic care of this video.
I think this woman is amazing for having such an amazing out look on life which makes me think I should motivate myself more to do things like read my Bible and meditate more than I do and to appreciate the world the way it is regardless of circumstance and situations.

Oh Dear...

Started a new placement this week, its a nice placement, a wee 9-5 jobbie.
I came home from placement and immediately changed into sweats and a comfy teeshirt, (practically pajamas)
I didn't move from my bed the rest of the evening.
Until I realised I left my car out on the side of the road and should bring it back in to the drive way. I went outside, moved the car and came back inside.
I was so exhausted from moving approximately 75 yards in the cold, I put the kettle on, made a cuppa tea and put my pjs on heading to bed again.

I feel that this is the start of me becoming obese.
Thought I would share this moment.

Byeeeeeeeee.

Pintrest Day

I love Pintrest,

It is so creative and amazing.

It makes me happy.

As a result I propose that all fellow humans should have one day a month where they look at all their pins and try and recreate some of them.

It promotes creativity and healthiness-ess.

Yes.
